Floating Barriers are applied to zone off a water zone from debris, silt turbidity or oil etc.,. These are

contained to a specific designated area so that it can be efficiently collected for subsequent disposal or

cordoning of working zone, i.e. bridge pier area that need to prevent silt spreading to the whole water

catchment.

The design of floating barrier is dependent on what are to be contained i.e. rubbish, timber log, silt

turbidity or floating oil, it is also dependent on the prevalent site condition i.e. high velocity rivers, deep

reservoir etc. Generally, floating barrier consists of buoy, cable, net, ballast, or location buoy.

With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, floating barrier is being rapidly
